Welcome to the Community Classroom
The Foundation’s Community Classroom program will provide arts, culture and heritage programs to Oakville’s publicly funded elementary students free of charge. These programs are developed in partnership with Oakville’s school boards, and will support students learning by providing immersive educational experiences.
All Community Classroom programs are curriculum-based, and provided in partnership with local arts and culture groups. They are designed to help Oakville’s youngest residents better understand their community, as well as deepen their knowledge about arts, culture and heritage. Through this program, The Foundation hopes to support the education of Oakville’s students, as well as solidify the connection between local schools, cultural institutions, and local organizations.
The Foundation will provide funding for in-school performances, instruction, bussing and admission to local cultural institutions. Partial funding will be provided by repurposing funds from two of The Foundation’s Grants Programs – the Ontario Endowment for Children & Youth and the Oakville Heritage Trust.
We are indebted to our Corporate partners for their support and endorsement of this program.
